These Platform Rules ("Rules") apply to stores you build, content you create or publish, and how you use Simplify Studio and our AI. They are part of our Terms of Service. We may suspend or remove content or access that violates these Rules. By using Simplify Studio, you agree to follow them.
Violent and criminal behavior
What's not allowed: Stores, product listings, or AI-generated content that promote cruelty or violence towards people or animals; praise or instruct violent or criminal acts; promote criminal activity or organizations known for violence; or threaten or incite violence.
What's allowed: Criticism and awareness content; fictional or artistic representation that does not promote violence or criminality; documentary or educational content.
Child safety
What's not allowed: Any content involving child harm, abuse, or exploitation; sexualized or nude imagery of children; content that endangers or facilitates harm to minors.
What's allowed: Criticism and awareness content about child safety without explicit or graphic depictions; documentary or educational content that does not describe or depict child harm.
Harassment, bullying, and hate
What's not allowed: Content that harasses, bullies, or abuses individuals or groups; promotes intimidation or physical attacks; or constitutes hate speech, discrimination, or exclusion based on race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, religion, age, disability, or other protected attributes.
What's allowed: Criticism and awareness content; fictional or artistic representation that does not promote harassment, bullying, or hate; documentary or educational content.
Self-harm and dangerous acts
What's not allowed: Content that provides or promotes instructions for suicide, self-harm, or eating-disorder behaviors; glorifies or encourages self-harm; or promotes dangerous or high-risk acts that could lead to serious injury or death.
What's allowed: Awareness and prevention content; fictional or artistic representation that does not promote self-harm or dangerous acts; documentary or educational content focused on recovery and safety.
Adult and sexual content
What's not allowed: Pornography; explicit sexual acts or sexualized nudity; solicitation or promotion of sexual or escort services; content that facilitates sex trafficking; or AI-generated or altered content making someone nude or sexualized without consent.
What's allowed: Legitimate adult products (e.g., adult literature, art, or products) sold in compliance with Shopify and applicable law; fictional or artistic representation that follows all other rules and does not depict explicit sexual acts.
Deceptive media and misinformation
What's not allowed: Stores or content designed to deceive (e.g., fake news, manipulated media to mislead others); false or dangerous medical or safety claims; deepfakes or AI-generated content that falsely portrays real people for political, financial, or personal gain.
What's allowed: Criticism and awareness content; fictional or artistic content that is clearly labeled as such and follows all other rules; documentary or educational content.
Illegal or restricted goods and services
What's not allowed: Selling, promoting, or advertising controlled substances; offering unlicensed financial services, counterfeit goods, stolen property, or unlicensed weapons; facilitating human exploitation; or promoting unlicensed gambling or other regulated services where prohibited.
What's allowed: Criticism and awareness content; fictional or artistic representation that does not promote illegal goods or services and is clearly labeled; documentary or educational content that does not instruct how to obtain or produce illegal goods or services.
Private information
What's not allowed: Publishing or sharing someone else's private information (e.g., passwords, home address, phone number, identity documents) without consent; or requesting or facilitating the sale or sharing of personal information without consent.
What's allowed: Information shared with explicit consent; public records and legally obtained information used in compliance with law.
Security
What's not allowed: Attempting to bypass platform or system security; sharing or requesting instructions for hacking or breaking into systems; distributing malware, stolen credentials, or other sensitive data; or creating or distributing malicious software or links.
What's allowed: Criticism and awareness content about cybersecurity; fictional or artistic representation that does not promote hacking or malware; documentary or educational content about security.
Deceptive behaviors
What's not allowed: Impersonating another person, brand, or organization in a way that could confuse others; accounts or stores that falsely pretend to be someone else for fraud, phishing, harassment, or misinformation; phishing or social engineering (e.g., fake login pages, deceptive messages to collect sensitive information); fake giveaways, fraudulent investment offers, or other scams.
What's allowed: Criticism and awareness content about impersonation or fraud; fictional or artistic representation that is clearly labeled and follows all other rules; documentary or educational content.
Copyright and trademark
What's not allowed: Content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark. Stores or sites that copy existing commercial sites or use names and logos of known businesses to pretend to be them will be treated as deceptive and removed.
Support
To report a store or content that you believe violates these Rules, or to submit an appeal if your store or account was suspended, contact us at the email or address provided on our website or in the app.
When reporting, please include: (1) the URL or project/store identifier, and (2) a brief description of the issue. Use the subject line "Platform rules report" for reports or "Appeal" for appeals. We may request additional information as needed.
